Shellac Manicures

Have you been wondering if Shellac Manicures are the way to go? Click the link to Check out this article/ post by Lady Melbourne for some great FAQ answered.

Shellac Manicures are essentially a three step base coat, color and top coat process involving a Shellac system nail polish. These are applied to your natural nail and each coat is dried under the CND UV Lamp for about 30 seconds. The process is relatively fast and has zero dry time, which also means no chance of messing up your polish a few minutes after you walk out of your appointment!

Shellac manicures can be a great alternative for someone who doesn’t want to have acrylic nails on, and who doesn’t like how fast a normal manicure chips off. It is slightly more expensive than a regular manicure, but lasts about 2-3 weeks. Other possible downsides? If you are a person who gets in the habit of picking off your polish, this may not be for you. If you pick shellac off of your nails, it can cause severe damage to your natural nail. Shellac also will not remove with just normal nail polish remover and a cotton swab at home.

If you know what you are doing, there are ways to remove shellac yourself at home. However, to avoid any damage to your nail and the mess that can come along with removing shellac- it is always best to have a professional remove the shellac polish!
